Samsung prices drop more because Android devices depreciate faster than iPhones, retailers clear inventory ahead of new releases, and major yearly sales create steep seasonal discounts. Many people miss these helpful drops because they appear suddenly around launches, sales, or major model transitions.
Knowing these patterns helps you avoid paying too much and pick better times to buy. This guide explains when Samsung prices drop so you can save money.
When Should You Buy Your New Samsung?
Now that you know why timing is important, let’s see when it makes sense to upgrade to a new Samsung phone.
Before picking the best time to buy, pay attention to signs that your current Samsung might need replacing. These clues can show when it’s time for an upgrade:
1. Slow Performance: Apps take a long time to open, effects take a long time to appear, and even the simplest tasks start feeling sluggish.
2. Poor Battery Life: Your mobile phone battery only lasts a day despite light usage.
3. Frequent Freezing: When performing simple scrolling or multitasking, the screen freezes, glitches, or locks up.
4. Storage Full: You are deleting photos and apps all the time just to keep the phone working.
5. Older Software: Your device is no longer provided with significant updates, security fixes, or new features.
When Is The Best Time To Buy A Samsung Phone?
Understanding Samsung’s yearly price cycle helps you avoid peak prices and buy during discount windows. Samsung uses a consistent cycle, and purchases between these periods may result in a significant change in your costs.
● Feb. Release Period: The new S-series phones to be launched come with pre-sale offers and package deals instead of a price cut.
● July to August Foldable Release: New foldable models offer new trade-in values and special offers.
● Holiday Sales Season (Oct–Dec): It is oriented to offer deals, accessory discounts, and promotions based on retailers.
● Post-Holiday Clearance (Jan -Mar): The older devices receive more aggressive markdowns during the stores' clearing inventory of the last year.
● Mid-Year Deals (May–June): Retailers adjust prices quietly as they prepare for Samsung’s annual mid-cycle refresh.

Will the Samsung Galaxy S25 Get Cheaper When the Galaxy S26 Launches?
When Samsung launches the Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S25 would likely see a price cut right away as shops clear out older models. Discounts appear quickly as retailers shift focus to the newer flagship. This is one of the biggest savings opportunities for Samsung buyers, offering big discounts for those who like the higher features but don't want to pay the full launch price.
However, these post-launch S25 discounts rarely last long. Once retailers sell their remaining inventory, the reduced pricing often fades as supply tightens. In some regions, limited stock can even stabilize or slightly raise prices again. Therefore, the smartest time to buy the S25 is shortly after the S26 release, before availability declines noticeably.
